SAVE MY SEAT link Hi All, As a photographer, I cringe everything I receive emails from Matterport targeting real estate agents that mention anything about "reducing your photo and video costs ... for less" ... Win Listings would have been sufficient: not Win Listings for Less Your thoughts? Dan |

Matterport should stop discounting its product because MATTERPORT is a PREMIUM product. If you want cheap pictures or videos you can use an iPhone or similar. And if you want a cheap 360 tour solution you can use an Insta360 in combination with a Kuula Pro account for USD 100 per year. |

Horrendously shortsighted marketing strategy. Also borderline deceptive. I love having to compete against a service provider! Keith |

I wouldn't worry too much about this... Matterport seems to be desperate to sell more cameras but the idiots are targeting the wrong people. They can email every single realtor in this country and it wont change anything... most realtors are not going to invest $5000 for this. And if a few do buy cameras here and there, who cares... leverage your marketing tactics, offer a superior customer experience and dont be too concerened with what Matterport does. There are many other people/businesses other than real estate agents who can use this service. Just my 2 cents.

Matterport’s most recent U.K. attendance was at http://www.guildproperty.co.uk/ 800 paid members conference connected to local estate agents. Their recent Instagram post proves it. Check out #matterportmedia |

I've met a few agents that have their own camera. They said it takes up so much time that they didn't really use it. One was thinking about selling his.

Already spoken to this lots. Even if Real Estate agents were inclined to dive into this- and most, most definitely are not..... it just doesn't add up for an agent in terms of time/money invested and lost focus. With the cost of a camera, ancillary gear, hosting fees, learning curve, time spent on shoots, post production, keeping up with new developments.... the only way it remotely makes financial sense is making tours for a LOT of listings. Sorry but the two are mutually exclusive. An agent can not both put in the time farming/presenting/bringing in a lot of listings and attending to those he/she already has by being completely hands on generating content for marketing. I don't resent or fear MP marketing to agents in the least- this doesn't change what I do or put a dent into potential customers. I do wish they were putting their energy into a more effective/fruitful strategy as I win when they win. Parting shot. Dear Matterport: you are not a camera-maker, stop selling cameras. Expose as many as you can to the end product and the multitude of possibilities this technology presents. The resultant demand for the high quality 3d/VR content your technology makes possible will drive a demand for content, content production and in turn------>MSP/cameras/hosting.... revenue. |
