You should be able to import and align but only assuming your DSLR 360 photo sees the same features/edges captured by a Pro2. Just do not expect it will come with your original resolution. Matterport downscales imported 360 to 8K before processing them through Cortex.

I have an iphone 14 Pro Max and haven't had a problem with other things attached to it. It scans and puts the scans in the wrong room. I'm in the process of seeing it it develops okay, just wondering if that was a problem. Also, it hangs up when it's scanning and I have to either turn the camera off or my iphone off and restart.

So the only improvement you will get by switching to something more powerfull is an amount of time for data transfer and alignment. The only other real glitch I see is the Matterport app can only handle about a thousand scans per model. I usually start with the camera. Power down, then allow it to power up. So far that has done the trick.. I haven't had to restart my iPad. I have closed out of the app and reopened. Most likely Cortex installation is coming from the Matterport server directly(not Apple store) and Matterport only gives it to their authorised users. The change that they made appears to be a bit broader than just a fix for this issue. They changed the behavior of first load to do an asset assessment/load from the ground up. I completed the first test scan of a unit and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the scan. You can not easily remove or add info about a job to a database if you dont know its structure and fields' destine. We need a person who can create an application for iPad.

As a Basic member of the WGA forum you get a 10% discount on MP2FP.com - the price for a floorplan equivalent to the Matterport floorplan is $ 14.40 after the discount. i.e. cheaper than matterport. 8 yearslisahinson (785): @Joelbcollins I had a similar situation where the bottom floor extended beyond the top floor and it was not possible to mark windows on the top floor because it caused misaligns below on the bottom floor (and to add something else into the mix... the windows on the top floor were 'normal' about 7' up and then slanted in 45 degrees).. I trimmed the top and it worked great! DUPLICATE the model first though. Let us know if it worked for you!

Make a copy model on the iPad and delete the 'Problem" scans... and see what happenes.... if for any reason you have to go back to the model it will be just for 10 mins to re-scan few spots. Is that a building in Bogota, Colombia?

But the main problem is the distance between walls.. it was huge 35-40 meters with no obstacles in the way.. so it was very difficult to find a good configuration for the boxes and had to go up and down with the camera uncountable times. Happened many misaligned points as well that if I didn't pay attention would create several errors in the model....

I have worked closely with MP for at least 8 months before metric measurements were released - the ridiculous thing is that the very first release of MP had metric measurements! I have actually been told during a skype meeting by Katharine Nevins (who works in the Product Management team) that it automatically creates in metric and they have to convert it to imperial! So frustrating!

The only issue we come up with is some times he is to far away and we loose the wifi connection with the camera and loose the last scan. So if you pick an area that is in close proximity to the camera and park it, it should go fine. We find on bigger houses it works faster because one of us is marking up the APP while the other is placing the camera. I hope this helps. Ron
