	Is there someone in the forum that might be willing to further explain working with the OBJ file and why we might want to know this. I've looked (not thoroughly) through the forum and Matterport Support for more info..I found a post that is archived here. If I understand @DanSmirgrod 's comment in this recent post, the OBJ file is primarily for Architects and General Contractors. "The Object File (.obj) captured by the Matterport Pro 3D Camera may be more valuable to Matterport Photographers than creating Matterport Spaces for real estate agents." This We Get Around Guest Blog Post by Josh Readhead does help shed some light, but if I were to make a blanket statement is this process (using the OBJ file) something that an architect or general contractor might like because it would be helpful (like) in the case of remodeling a space? sorry for being such a dolt here.

Having the access to the model is cool for 3D folks like me, but I don't think there's any significant use to the general public.

I've used the geometry to create more accurate floor plans. I've also used it as a reference to re-model the space in 3D for rendering renovations, etc.

There are services that use the OBJ files to animate and render them to make movies like these examples:

And now there are people using that data to create a stereo walkthrough (think Google cardboard). I haven't seen one firsthand, but I imagine that the experience would be fairly rough.

None of these uses is as automated or as simple as the standard virtual tour that Matterport creates, so be prepared to spend a bit more.

	I've shot some test jobs for Architects and Engineering firms and in both cases the OBJ wasn't antiquity for their needs they were trying to get out of paying for a Faro shoot which would cost them big bucks.
