Hello all,

I have a question about marking or handling a mirror on the floor. Please note the pictures attached.

Where should mirror lines be marked? The effect is distortion below the doll house so I'm not sure if this can be fixed.

Vertical trim is not an option with matterport, however, you might consider marking it on four sides each pointing inwards, and see if that will minimize the overspray. This has been a request made to matterport many, many times.

I agree with @kmiller01. I would use the mirror as trim pointing inward totally boxing in the mirror, if that would not work I would try the window marking in an attempt to reduce the overspray.

I do not believe you can trim something like this. Trimming is like building a wall as tall as your mesh and removing anything behind that wall. So the only way to trim it out is to trim the floor inwards. However it will remove both the floor and the reflections.

I have had this problem recently with a mirrored surface coffee table in a property display suite

Thank you @kmiller01, @ron0987, @Wingman for your answers

It looks like it was as I thought.

Thankfully my client doesn't mind.

When this job goes public next week I would like to share it with all of you.

There is nothing exceptional about the scan except that it is a scan of an exhibition to do with the olympics in Tokyo due to close today.

There may be a way but I have not mentioned it because I do not think it is ready. Check with Captur3d (@AlexHitchcock) to see if they have implemented their trimming tools into their platform. I have seen their announcement through a video that they are working on a box type of trimming and the way it has been shown in the video it should be able to solve this problem.
