Importing existing 360 panoramas into matterport12185

I think the answer is no but I'll ask the question anyway.

I have an outdoor commercial site shot on an insta360 One R on which the client has decided that they want many tags on the products in the site. Clearly doing this in something like 3DVista as I had planned before product tags were mentioned, means if I add a tag in one panorama I need to add it to all others in which that item is reasonably visible, probably around 5 per item. On a site with 20 panoramas and maybe 75 items to be tagged, 20 of which can be in any single panorama, that works out at a lot of tagging.

If I could bring the 360 panos into matterport to leverage their depth features then I believe I would only have to tag once and it would show in all scans. I do know that there's a big difference in how they were captured, the wee 360 cam has no depth data yet MP seems to be able to calculate depth that the camera is shot directly into the MP app.

My question basically is if I can add legacy images to MP and benefit from their tagging and movement.

I'm pretty sure the answer is no but I can't find a definitive answer and I thought I would check here

Thanks

P

No, there are many things we are waiting for from various platforms. With Matterport I wouldn't hold your breath and I'm a user. They are brilliantly frustrating. Similar to the Apple business structure, if you want their product you will need to accept (nay, embrace) their proprietary system.

That said, I won't be surprised if they expand their camera selection. I purchased the Pro2 because it was the only way to get hi-res images in Matterport (ok, you can spend 3 times as much and pick up the Leica). But, if it were compatible, I would have picked up something like the Insta360Pro2 since I would have used that in a number of other applications--video, etc.
