Share Measureable Showcase With Client920

BrianM private msg quote post Address this user
How do you share a showcase where the client can measure without making them collaborators?

Or is that the only way?

I have not found another way to do that. You can limit what scans they have access to but the will use up one of your collaborator spots.

Hey guys...

########### UPDATE ###########

Just tried my own advice here and it appears that the Measure tool has been removed from public models in the "Workshop". Probably a good thing, from a "security" perspective.

The information I posted below is not correct....leaving it here for reference.

########### UPDATE ###########

It's easy to pull measurements from any "public" model using the "Workshop" tools. You just can't SAVE any of the information unless you're a "Collaborator" on that particular model.

The link is formatted like this:

https://my.matterport.com/models/MODEL-ID-GOES-HERE

Example:

https://my.matterport.com/models/rLjymKcMPu5

Hope that helps!

I would not be interested in teaching people how to use the workshop. Also, it doesn't work with Chrome so right away you will run into compatibility problems. I don't do tech support for these, so we will be waiting until this is a standard feature, along with MatterTags.

@rpetersn

Ross,

If I'm logged out of the workshop or cut and paste your URL into a private browser window then I cannot see where the measure tool is on your sample above.

Do you have to be logged into the workshop? It is kind of looking like you have to be a collaborator?

Try this as not being logged in or in a private browser window https://my.matterport.com/models/9s3yHacYNUH

My apologies guys...I should have logged in and tried this before posting. It appears that things have changed since the last time I tried using the "Workshop" on a public model that I don't own.

I'm no longer seeing that the "measure" tool is available to non-collaborators. Please disregard my note above.

It would be great if there was a way to easily give clients the ability to take measurements other than collaborating.

I am finding that with how inaccurate it is I'm not sure what purposes it holds other than for me to measure for basic floorplans.
