Video: How does licensing photos for real estate photography work? | Video courtesy of JRDNPWRS YouTube Channel

Hi All,

I found this video (above) on the Photography For Real Estate Blog (excellent):

PFRE (6 March 2019) A Video about Real Estate Photography Licensing by Jordan Powers

It's a great read – and discussion – about real estate photographers meets licensing.

In light of this WGAN Forum discussion started by: @Richierichks

Question about how to price licensing a still photo for commercial use.

... seemed timely to share.

Got a tip – or question – about licensing your real estate images?

Best,

Dan

Disagree on one point, the distribution of real estate listing photos is actually very high. Listing photos can appear on hundreds, if not thousands of websites through IDX distribution. This is one area where photographers have cut themselves short. What has also driven the licensing fee down in most markets is competition from other photographers, not smaller distribution. Over the past two decades, licensing fees for real estate photos are actually down about 40%.
