Hello, I appreciate all the help that I found here in this page. They are very helpful for me especially with me just getting ready to buy my first professional 360 camera. I already had a demo with the Matterport Pro 2, I am very satisfied with the results and also how fast and simple it is. I found online another professional 360 camera, the Insta360 Pro 2. My questions are as follows: Does anyone know the Matterport Pro 2 sensor size? When is the next Matterport coming? I want to buy the Matterport Pro 2 (2019) but I also don't want that only 6 months later, there is a newer version. Pricing aside, what are the advantages and disadvantages if you compare Matterport Pro 2 to Insta360 Pro 2? Is there anything Matterport Pro 2 can do that Insta360 Pro 2 can not? Also, if I buy the Insta360 Pro 2, can I use just the Matterport software? will I have better results? How is the shooting of Matterport Pro2 outdoors? I know there are lots of questions, but I cannot find them anywhere, I really hope you can shed some light on these. And when I get answers, maybe I will have some more questions ) Thank you, Thea |

Hi Thea, response here is purely my opinion. The Matterport 2 can shoot 360 panos outside. You just won't have data to go along with it. You can kinda get them lined up with the rest of the tour. My only gripe is that you cannot replace the big green 360 puck with your own image. | ||

My main concern is which is better to get for me, I will also be shooting outside though (pano). Matterport has 4k outputs and removes a lot on my shoulders especially with post processing, while the insta360 Pro 2 has 8k with a lot of post processing needed. Just now I decided to take the Matterport.. I will be working with this while on the road.. Another question is, is there a way to locally save 360 photos or does all the photos get uploaded in the cloud and stored there? Once I get the Matterport, it is mandatory to pay the monthly fee for their cloud right? Thank you for all your responses. |

Quote:Originally Posted by DanSmigrod I plan to do scan real estate mainly, but also have the option to scan landscapes outside. Since I am a traveller and this camera is already big, I would prefer if it can also take nature panos. I also have a Mavic 2 pro, go pro 7 black and a Sony a7 iii. Maybe I can just bring 3 (go pro always in my pocket) and not all of them wherever I go. |
