Hi I'm thinking of adding another 360 camera to my wares, if I'm buying one today and want to use it with cupix, what would be recommended?

@michaelr

For under $500 360º 1-click cameras, CUPIX recommends:

Xiaomi Mi Sphere 360
Ricoh Theta V
Insta360 One X
Yi 360 Camera

As a WGAN Standard Member, you are eligible for the WGAN 360º 1-Click Camera Loaner Program that includes these the first three 360º 1-click cameras. (see tab above and your Welcome Onboard Letter)

I recommend getting the Ricoh Theta V because you can also use it seamlessly with Zillow Tours (here, here). Plus, I could imagine other platforms leveraging the Ricoh API/SDK to make it easy, fast and affordable to creating 360º tours.

WGAN Standard and Premium Memberships includes:

Free use of ThreeSixty Tours Pro 5 Domain Plan (white-label)
6 Months Free Use of CUPIX Small Plan + Studio Add On Pack
Free nadir logo patch from TresDePro
✓ free use of Panoskin Pro to publish to Google Street View
✓ free use of Panoskin Pro to publish to Google Street View

Best,

Dan

I just returned Ricoh Theta V after 10 day use. As a regular matterport user, i was dissapointed with RT V with CUPIX results. Looks like good smartphone with istaging kit would do much better job. I am going to try it.

@Miguelea

Did you use the HDR setting on the Ricoh Theta V? It's make a HUGE difference.

Happy holidays,

Dan

I did. Also the 3D model processing was terrible. I might have lost my enthusiasm too early , but again, as a regular matterport user, I expect probably too much from other technologies to switch .

Help me understand "terrible" ... perhaps that is a result of shooting too few "scans"? Or, shooting too many and then not "hiding" the scans that you do not want to be in the 'walk around' experience.

Is the result "good enough" to get and keep clients (and take you much less time to shoot a space).

Well terrible for me means unusable.

At this state I prefer spending more time with matterport with beautiful results for indoor. I am considering istaging, as my tryout shots with Samsung s8 came out pretty good. I am going to try their kit

As to ricoh theta even it has pretty good resolution it is on 360 photo and so it is not that good number I think.

Is anybody here using ricoh Theta v with cupix? Meybe I can be proved wrong

I've had decent results outdoors with the Theta V. Indoors it is best with HDR setting. Playing around with the priorities will help. Of course with CUPIX you can always use DSLR panos

@michaeir

Insta360 One X is one of the under $500 360º 1-click cameras that CUPIX recommends.

In this CUPIX provided chart (above), CUPIX compares 10 360º cameras for features such as resolution.

As a WGAN Standard Member, you can borrow an Insta360 One X for 10 nights and take it for a spin with CUPIX (with the special offer (above) for WGAN Standard and Premium Members (and share your experience with the Insta360 One X + CUPIX with the WGAN Forum Community).

Best,

Dan
