I sent this letter to support: Dear Matterport support team! I have recently experienced that the models are much whiter. Some of my models are extremely ugly because of too much light. What happened? Older models have also changed, too white. The downloaded snapshot images are clearly light, they are beautiful. I do not understand why the picture will be ugly when running the model, why will it be too clear? Several clients have indicated that this is not acceptable to him. I send pictures for evidence. What happened? Why have I experienced this phenomenon in recent days? Please investigate the problem carefully, and my friend, MSP Service Provider, using another Pro 1, experienced the same thing. We are waiting for their answer. Examples: (but all of our modells are the same) you can see that the 3d showcase more whiter and looks terrible Example 1: Example 2: |

Do you think they’re changing the quality of the pro1 imaging to prompt the stragglers to upgrade to pro2?

@LeventeSolczi I just opened both example links and they both look fantastic! Could it have been brightness settings on the screen itself that caused the over exposure?

Dear Helen. On phone it is ok, but on PC or MAC the showcase is extra white - extra gamma. This was not the before. I am a photographer and a film maker i really like the quality . This is not affordable, my clients going to be disapointed. |

@LeventeSolczi I opened the models from the links you provided. Along with opening them in a MacBook. I also just opened them in a iMac on both systems they looked very good to me. In both systems the quality looked like the second image in each example set. I hope this helps and maybe others can check on their computers and let you know. |

Matterport-Marcus (Matterport Support) Jan 10, 10:30 AM PST Hello again Solczi, It's an issue with the browser itself, we've received this feedback from other customers. It's an Apple issue at this point and worth reaching out to them. I've also made our team aware on this end too, though the processing and spaces are the same and no quality has diminished. Safari is the new Internet Explorer for web developers ... the browser that just doesn't get along with standards, is buggy and takes forever for things to get fixed in. What Matterport CAN do is to identify that the user is viewing with Safari, and display a visual notice that recognizes this problem. |

OK.. The subject is bugging me.. Don't know why Apple is not making a fix.. Don't want to make a bigger deal than its worth.. but fact is many people will see this discrepancy with Safari.. I am using 11.0.03 For proof in the pudding, I am snapping this from my oldest computer.. a MacBook Pro 2010 using Safari. As mentioned above ver. 11.0.03 The Google Chrome Version is 64.0.3282.186 And.. here are the results: So, you can clearly see the one on the top ( Safari ) and the one on the bottom ( chrome ) Is signifigantly different! |

Hi everyone, I've read this topic a while ago and now I'm facing the same problem. Unlike @LeventeSolczi I happened to scan the exact same place with 1 year difference. It's an art exhibition...the place is same, walls are same and even the lightning is exactly the same. The only difference is the art works but the latest is very white and the customer is rightfully complaining about it. Here are some snapshots: Last year's scan: This year's scan: So, what do you think? |
