| I have been given an opportunity to scan industrial equipment that requires scans at different heights. | Hi Leon, Quite high - 20ft or so... It was mentioned that this device could reach 7m...Looks solid and want something that wont wobble at those heights for these scans... Ideally indoor and outdoor for aerial photography applications. I'd like to try scanning outdoors as well...will try early morning / late evening as recommended on these posts. I think there is great potential for use outside, hoping these cameras will have that ability soon... |

| Thank you @DroneGirl but the tallest I see is 5m. I'm hoping to find something in the 7m range. Is there much flex when they're fully extended? Thank you @leonvanzweel. @JonJ one of the reviewers said that there's definitely a lot of wobble fully extended so I don't think it will be ideal for a Matterport camera. Thank you anyways though. | ||

| How would you move a 20ft tripod around with a MP attached? I use the 15ft for exterior archatectrual photography and it's a one spot shot. The base of the tripod is very wide when fully extended. And while it's not impossible to move, it's not something I would do frequently, especially with a $5000 camera attached. | ||

| Wheels or retract as you move. Depends on the stand / tripod. It has been done, have you looked at any of the links I shared? This job requires multi level scans with the potential for ongoing work. This work would be quite profitable and in my opinion, well worth the effort to figure out as it could carve a new niche for me. Not impossible, I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks. | ||

| @Snap Stability at 20ft or 7m will not be achieved by a tripod & pole combination that is portable. It will require specialized equipment. Something like a scaffolding platform or an aerial work platform like: http://www.genielift.co.uk/en/products/aerial-work-platforms/genie-iwp/index.htm or http://www.genielift.com/en/products/vertical-mast-lifts/runabout/index.htm |

| Thank you for the suggestion @leonvanzweel but scafolding isn't possible for this job and we can't successfully multi-height scan with platforms or genies because they move in different positions for every scan. The link I shared in my initial post shows it can be done with a specialized tripod shown in the photograph. | ||
