| Hi All, A Member of the Forum asked me to post this ... Dan ---- Matterport: Virtual Physical Store Integration Hello Dan, ... One big potential client that is in retail business asked me some questions about the future of Matterport and I wanted to share these with you. Here are the questions: 1. What is our position in Matterport to Google Street View publishing? Can we expect it to start this summer? 2. Is it possible to create new revenue/promotion models by using Matterport's SDK platform? Are there any examples of Virtual Physical Store integration, E-commerce etc.? | First, about the original question, while Matterport announced, Video Interview) that Matterport to Street View Publishing arrives "Summer 2017" ... I could imagine that it will be September 2017 before it is public. Here's why: ✓ Matterport to Google Street View: Sept 2017? I encourage you (all) to manage your client expectations (since Matterport has previously made product announcements and significantly missed their promise dates. Matterport's APIs/SDKs are not public yet. I could imagine that they will be made public at the same time that Matterport to Google Street View publishing goes public. About Virtual / Physical Stores, I have seen at least one grocery store chain that is moving forward full throttle with adding rich-media MediaTags to Matterport Spaces. Imagine adding buy links. @ArtisticConcepts While you can jump to Google Street View from a Matterport Space using a MatterTag link, Google Street View does not support annotation. The closes you could come is adding a logo/website patch in the bottom (nadir) of the Google Street View tour (assuming that Matterport enables this. | I've investigated at length about ecom integration. It's the original reason I bought a camera, thinking to a time when mattertags are more dynamic and, as we can all see, it's getting there. If you could add one or multiple XML feeds to a tag we're off and running. This is well within the capabilities of the wizards at Matterport. |
