| Promoted Post | About Matterport Pro Wanted Posts --- The We Get Around Network has a need for a Matterport Pro in Edinburgh, Scotland. ---- A Heriot Watt University Ph.D. Candidate (September 2018) (Construction/Project management focusing on digital tech, including VR) in Edinburgh, Scotland reached out to me seeking an opportunity to collaborate with a Matterport Pro. He writes about his researching/writing for his thesis: "We are piloting a new process for historic building repair and maintenance. We are currently investigating the application of a range of technologies for our new process, such as data capture, visualization and communication technologies with a view of modernizing and enhancing existing practice e.g. at the surveying phase as well as the installation phase of our project to capture data in relation to 3D re-construction, materials' properties etc. Furthermore, we are also considering Quality Assurance measures in our new process." "In addition not only from a technology perspective but also from an educational standpoint, one of the main strands of the project is to raise awareness of the potential applications of a range of digital technologies across the built heritage sector to educate trainees and the existing workforce in new technologies and provide them with commercially applicable skills." ---- (While this is likely to be a Pro Bono Matterport project, it's a great opportunity to share-learn and get potential referrals and help get connected to a University.)
