Here's a large tour which we recently completed for a hotel, bar, restaurant in Cornwall. This was done while guests were using some of the rooms and was scanned over multiple visits when rooms were vacant. Room doors are closed until you get in front of them which seems to work well. Did about 230 scans and was handled relatively easy. Comments appreciated. https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=2abeYcNtwbR |

@Paulterry What a wonderful job! There were a few little glitchy areas (like at the top of the stairs on the second floor), but nothing major. All in all, I hope you were paid what this is worth! It really conveys the essence of the place very nicely. What was the total sq ft? Cheers - Keith |

All = ... this model scan area was 7733 sq ft or 718 sq meters. Keith |

Hi Paul, How much time it took you to do the 230 scans? |

That looks excellent in "Gear VR." It drops you right on the main floor next to that pool table. With large models, CoreVR is sometimes like an adventure puzzle game since there's no dollhouse to show us where we are. I was trapped on the main floor but I know there's an exit somewhere on that floor -- an entry way to another part of the world. In my Web browser I was able to jump around and explore easily by clicking in the dollhouse. Maybe Matterport's Xmas present will be a CoreVR navigation map or dollhouse. Great job capturing that place. | ||

Thanks for the feedback, to answer some questions: It's around 8000 square feet and I did 6 visits to scan the whole place which took about 12 hours. The only alignment issues while scanning were upstairs at the end of the corridor which I had to rescan a couple of times. I saved the model and duplicated about 4 times to be on the safe side whilst scanning each area. |

Very Very Nice Paul... was wondering how large we could go. Matterport say (someone correct me if i'm wrong) that they only support up to 200 scans, so curious how this works... did they charge more for the model, or did you have to negotiate at all for them to produce it?... or is the 200 just a guideline ? Best, Kev |

I think they I'll only support up to 200 scans so if you have issues with it then it's not supported. Large numbers of scans in a model take longer to upload and even longer to process. The scan app on iPad can crash aswell so important to keep duplicating your models after say 175 scans just to be on the safe side. |
