What are the tips, tricks, proceedures involved to connect a guesthouse, which is 1/2 mile away to the main house of the same property?

Just a damn good amount of luck. as far as I know is you have to be able to have the camera see every spot for that half mile or I might think now you can use a Mattertag and have it push over to a separate tour. Good Luck... |

1. Get a big cardboard box and set it outside. 2. Scan going from the house into the box. 3. Move the box 1/2 miles. 4. Scan going out of the box into the guest house. This is called Scanning Out of the Box Method (SOBM). Or you can use the iGuide camera without any scan point proximity limitations. |

What... Alex... OK dude that is one of the Best things I have heard on this site in a long time... Nice job of "out of or in the box" thinking... when you say box... about how big of a box do you see... |

Is there anything in that 1/2 mile that the camera can align with? How many scans does the main house use? The mattertag would be the best and easiest way. You can space outdoor scans a little further apart but that distance would probably have people's ADHD pushed to the limits. Another obstacle would be the sun. I had this problem with a guest house but it was in a courtyard. I think it turned out pretty good. This is a copy, so I didn't take too much time removing unwanted scans. clickable text |

Man! That box idea adapted could actually work! An interesting and fun way would be to make a box with a hand painted sign that says "teleport" on the front (Just think roadrunner) and then jump in and out. That is sparking some fun ideas in this brain of mine!

Like that? Will need two doors - in and out. With this one, however, one door will work: |

It seems the tent is a more practical solution. Unlike the hut, the doors are on zippers, so no taking doors off hinges is needed in case of automatic scan alignment difficulties.

This is the best idea ever. I want to build a teleportation TARDIS.

I would be very interested in a black tent that was shaped as a rectangle that was freestanding, thin, and designed specifically for this purpose. No roof necessary. Essentially just four partitions that were connected to preserve the exact dimensions. Rectangular so that the two openings could be on the long sides and one could not see straight through from either side. Wide enough for a scan.

Can't have black, it will absorb IR and will be barely scannable. Need a white tent with 4 projectors, so that custom scenery can be projected.

If you are scrapping the hut design before you move into beta testing, I'm suggesting you keep the talons and try them on the tent. (Maybe as an upgrade option) they just add so much class. I know we are going way out there on this, but from my personal experience, that's how the most earth shattering and disruptive discoveries come about. I always say "If you are shooting for the moon, start at Pluto... you know... the planet... (still a planet to me) That's the art of the brainstorm... next project... time travel! |

Easiest solution is to mess with the clocks before you scan or scan different rooms throughout the day. (Enclosure free solution!!!) but I'll miss the talons

I would scan the spaces separately then throw both tours into a property website like WP3D.

@Alex_iGuide So I need to go with classic TARDIS design -- not modern.

Perhaps it needs to be "L" shape so that when you enter, you can not see the exit. Then you move the "L" and exit and you can not see the entrance while exiting? Dan |

Quote:Originally Posted by DanSmigrod That's clever. But complicates the design. Would not it be easier for MP to add the ability to mark doors in addition to windows/mirrors? With the difference being that doors do not get the mesh built. I still cannot believe that people have to take doors off hinges to continue scanning. Maybe this is worth patenting and licensing back to MP. |
