I had a client reach out (large property management company) who I’ve created many matterport tours for in the past (apartments). They had concerns about potential issues with the costar acquisition of Matterport. “ This acquisition could significantly impact how we use Matterport on other platforms, such as Rent.com, Zumper and Zillow. Specifically, there is a possibility that CoStar may prevent competitors from displaying Matterport tours on their sites once the acquisition is finalized.” Has anyone experienced this feedback or concern from their clients? If so, how have you responded? Are you providing alternatives to matterport? |

@BrettMtn this is a tactic that homes.com sales representatives are telling clients in order for them to go with their advertising. I had a client say this too and I got on a zoom with them and the client and he totally backtracked his words. What he is worried about is call tortious interference and costar would never do that |

I am convinced, that Costar will run Matterport as an independently acting daughter in their corporate group structure. It is important that Matterport on its own is successful. They will not cut out Matterport from platform competitors. For us Matterporters this can be a very good situation, if market players suddenly need the best 3D tour technology to stay on par with their competitors. |
