| I say best of luck to them and their renters. The risk of camera damage during shipping or use by a "renters" during setup and use just doesn't make sense to me... and the use of a Matterport that's been passed around seems a bit risky for the user as well. It will be interesting. |

| Hi, i don't think its that bad. We rent out and rent camera equipment our selve for years. Never had a problem. Its the same concept used at audio an lighting gear. You can Dry-hire our with personel. Nothing wrong with this. Happy scanning, Grtz Rene. |

| I didn't see the original link before Dan's appropriate redaction but I also found a site yesterday who was offering MP rentals, so I suspect it was the same site. I actually found them intentionally as I was seeking a way to get hands-on experience with the MP solution prior to making a decision on purchasing. But from this We Get Around forum thread https://www.wegetaroundnetwork.com/topic/447/how-much-should-i-rent-my-matterport-camera/ last year, I can see this is a tricky and sensitive topic. And I agree with all of the reasons given there for recommending not to rent one's MP gear. |
