-Have they been hiring individual freelance techs over many years to capture those?

-Have they been sending their work through some of the larger networks of Matterport techs?

-Have they been using Matterport Capture Services?

-Have they hired Matterport techs directly, either part time or full time?

I guess whatever strategy they've been using could change, but I think it's more likely CoStar will continue to just find the best techs for the best price. I doubt this MP acquisition will change that.

I have some insight into part of the equation. I assisted a fellow photographer in getting hired by CoStar. They have a ton of field photographers, each of whom has a very long shot list for a given day. Many of those shots include Matterport. In addition, I’m assuming that the total includes Apartments.com scans which were done by subcontractors.

They have made a significant investment in hiring photographers for this program, so that total wasn’t completely shocking to me.

BTW, they equipped my friend with a Mavic 3 Pro, a Matterport Pro3, a Ricoh Theta Z from Day 1 and gave her access to a company car.

WOW thats a lot of equipment invested into 1 person.

It was a perfect position for my friend - the salary wasn’t exceptional, but the benefits were wonderful.

My impression is that all of the scans and other photography are for internal consumption.
