New deadline for STAGES contest for the best Matterport scans time-lapse! 1 prize – a new iPad 10.2 is waiting for you! After 6 weeks after the contest launch, SIMLAB got access to many interesting SIMLAB STAGES projects from all over the world. The location and scale of properties are so diversified. Kid’s bedroom in Germany, an office in Uganda, or a big construction site of a commercial building in the US, are only some examples. This is exactly what we had in mind! No matter where you are from, or what have you scanned – if you can make an interesting Matterport time-lapse on STAGES platform, show us your project! We also received many questions regarding the extension of the deadline for the submission of competition projects. Due to the summer season, Matterport users who have several scans of their property do not have enough time to set contest projects on STAGES platform. We have also had several reports that you are just finishing another phase of your investment and need that extra month to do another scan. Go ahead then, we are waiting for you until the end of September. We invite you to create an account on the (still) free STAGES platform and send us access to the competition project for the best Matterport scans time-lapse. More about the contest: clickable text |

I like the idea of stages and I can see how it would be a great gimic for a Builder to offer to a New Home Buyer... but in order to work, you would have to keep paying hosting to Matterport for each of the timely scans for the same building, right? So if you had one at framing, and then electric/plumbing rough in, and then drywall, and then completed project that's a minimum of 4 scans to pay hosting on, so Matterport's ongoing costs and plan limits start to make it cost prohibitive to offer that. |

I am glad you like the idea of STAGES. Our current target group is Matterport users, who pay for hosting anyway, and mostly b2b market on the enterprise level, where costs of multiple scanning and hosting are part of an investment plan. After all, the desktop version of STAGES works with any OBJ / FBX format, not only Matterport standard. |
