Upload Partially Complete Before I Upload1615

Question, my iPad is only Wifi enabled and not connected to any cellular network so when I get back to my office why is a portion (anywhere from 30% -60%)of my scan already uploaded? This happens to a lot of my scans and I'm really only be in office less than 5 minutes before I press upload.

Just curious!

Is it taking WiFi from your phone's data plan?

Nope, not even connect to my phone.

Could it be uploading (without me tell it to do so) as soon as I walk into my office's home range wifi?

@BrianM Yes. It's an undocumented feature.

The app will upload in the background whenever it is connected to the internet.

I am not sure the following is still true - and perhaps you will ask Matterport Support - a number of MUG Forum Members were upset about the upload in the background on their 4G (minutes). At the time, I recommended to Matterport that they manage expectations. I happen to love that we can upload while we are driving back to the office or home.

I've had this happen in the past, if there is an open Wi-Fi signal at the location you're shooting the capture seems to jump on it and starts to upload the job while your shooting. I've never questions this as it speed up my upload time when I reach home and have to upload the balance of the job.

I've never had one begin uploading on its own. However, all scans this week have taken over three hours to upload - over full signal wi-fi, not LTE.

Yesterday a scan took FIVE AND A HALF HOURS to upload!

Talk about frustration!

Now the question: From that scan yesterday I moved a couple of incorrectly placed windows and uploaded it again today - over three hours. But it is now a different model and I have already adjusted the first one like I want it. Any way to merge the two?

Thanks in advance.
