Interesting new spatial AI camera which was funded on Kickstarter within 2 minutes. Some creative person could easily produce a 3D capture device along with a Raspberry Pi that could compete with other costly 3D capture solutions. This device has a capture range of 10m, a 4K camera at 4208x3120 along with a powerful AI vision processor. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/opencv/opencv-ai-kit-oak-depth-camera-4k-cv-edge-object-detection Interested to hear the groups comments. |

@GarySnyder Wow! That's crazy! And, just $89. Wish I knew something about coding I look forward to seeing what you and others do with it. Enjoy your weekend, Dan |

Wow, they have already collected more than 1.000.000 USD! Unfortunately I am not willing to support any Kickstarter projects, since I have lost about 400 USD with a kickstarter project called OSSIC spatial audio headphones a couple of years ago. I have never seen any product or refund from this backing. But I stumbled upon this interesting research link. These guys are rendering super realistic high resolution 3D models in large scenes from maybe 400 - 500 images with AI. Have a look. The paper link is in the youtube descripton. They call this process ADOP: Approximate Differentiable One-Pixel Point Rendering |

Thanks @meshimages for finding this This is incredible work. If this team (https://arxiv.org/abs/2110.06635) can bring a solution like this demo to market it will revolutionize the 3D capture market. All they would need to do is buildout the ability to move between areas captures. Taking the $89 Spatial AI Camera and an application like the one above would be world changing. If the developer of the GeoCV engin is reading this and wanted to collaborate with this team, WOW we could have a real contender to MP. |
