| I love the Matterport camera and the service, but what happens if something happened beyond our control and the company folded? What happens to the thousands of hosted tours that we have charged people for? I am sure this will not happen but I wonder. Is there an alternative software package we could purchase (and pay an annual license fee for) and host our own tours on our own server? It seems like this would be a good option for people who are setting up a 3D company and want to brand themselves and not Matterport as well as protecting themselves from an unlikely Matterport server shut down. |

| I am sure they like the recurring post sale $49/$99/$149 plus $19 a scan.....but they should offer an alternative. | ||

| I'm sure some other company is working on a similar product that will be competition to matterport. I already know that one reverse engineered a matterport camera about 12 months ago, so it's just a matter of time. |

| matterport isnt really in the hardware business, they are trying to lock down the cloud processing....there is already better cameras out there but they dont have the same showcase capability yet. for example http://www.mv4d.com/solutions/ | ||

Www.floored.com I saw maybe 18 months ago that they had partnered up (a presentation they did together) I looked at floored to clean up the scans when it was the mesh only view. Recent matterport users might not remember that |
