Hi All,

How is the latest COVID-19 lockdown (Tuesday, 5 January 2021) affecting you in the United Kingdom?

✓ CNN (5 January 2021) UK Prime Minister imposes harsh lockdown as new Covid-19 variant spreads

"UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson reimposed a lockdown in England on Monday as a more transmissible variant of Covid-19 fuels a surge in infections and hospitalizations in the country," reports CNN.

Stay healthy,

Dan

Hi Dan

Technically the property market is still open for viewings in limited circumstances. But its too early to tell about demand from buyers. Obviously most people have other priorities at this point in time.

It was great to see family (carefully in limited numbers for a limited over Christmas) but cases will probably continue to rise for a couple more weeks before dropping back (hopefully) due to the new lockdown kicking in. At least the 4 countries that make up the UK - England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales (yes save the best for last!) have similar rules in place now.

Hopefully our National Health Service will just about be able to cope with the surge but its touch and go. We have hospital beds but the medical staff are the finite resource more likely to burn out first.

I take my hat off to all medics working around the world...having to deal with life and death decisions on a never ending cycle.

Just hope the new UK and South African variants of the virus are handled by the 2 available vaccines we have approved for use so far....Pfizer and Astra Zeneca/Oxford. UK Govt (amongst others Im sure) is testing that now. Probably by the middle of January we'll know for sure.

Keep those fingers crossed people

Regards

Mark
