Hi All, A WGAN Member emailed me: Matterport VR is broken and will not load on VR headsets via WebXR/WebVR web browsers. WP3D recently released their update to address this issue and we are waiting for Matterport to respond. We became aware of this issue on Windows Mixed Reality and Google Cardboard headsets. The WGAN Member included this response from WP3D Models Support: Thanks for your patience while we work to figure this out. We have been able to resolve the issue with the VR headset icon not showing in 360 Tour and this fix is ready for release. We'll be pushing out the new release in just a few days. Stay tuned and hopefully that will help. At the same time, the second issue regarding the Matterport 3D Tour - VR Mode not working. We made a lot of tests with various configurations, but in all cases the matterport VR feature doesn’t work inside “iframe”. We created a Matterport support ticket and we are still waiting for a response. We also reached out to another plugin team that has a similar product using Matterport, and they mentioned that they're having issues with Matterport VR as well, and have submitted tickets there too, but are awaiting a response from them. So, unfortunately any further progress is on hold until we hear from Matterport Support. Cheers, WP3D Models Team --- Hi All, Anyone experiencing issues with Matterport VR via WebXR/WebVR web browsers? Happy Holidays, Dan |

Hi All, An update from the WGAN Members that emailed me previously (above). Dan --- UPDATE: The only immediate solution to this problem is using an Oculus headset, Android device that supports WebXR or pre-iOS14 for Google Cardboard. Here is a link from support: https://matterport.com/blog/introducing-new-vr-mode From Matterport Support Team: Unfortunately we will be unable to support iOS devices beyond iOS 14 for VR. We were using an application to workaround the compatibility support, but the latest version of iOS makes it so that the application is no longer supported. Therefore iOS devices will no longer be able to be supported to view models in VR. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. Regarding Windows Mixed Reality, we do not have official support for this platform. If it happens to come up as officially supported, then we shall make sure it is publicly known on our Support article for VR requirements. At this time, however I can confirm that it is not supported. An example of devices that we officially support are the Oculus Go, Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2. We also support Android devices that support WebXR and a compatible browser. |
