Was up in Seattle last week training a new Invelop team and we had the pleasure of not only capturing 1.5 hours of 4k drone footage, but also completing the below scan. It was challenging, however we were able to capture many custom details of this beautiful vessel. Video is forthcoming and questions are always welcome. |

Awesome scan! What height did you have the camera at for this scan?

Thank you, Joseph. Camera was about 5' due to there being a lot of detail at lower eye level that I didn't want to miss. Raised to about 6.5' in the engine room. It was also challenging due to my propensity for moving doors, walls, and objects, which added another hour+ to time on site.

Great Scan! How did you navigate and scan going down the small steps?

We have Manfrotto tripods with leveling ball heads, which allow for tight and uneven spacing. We scanned the rear lower level first, through the second floor, scanned the front lower level, added floors and did it all again. The workshop looks like a graveyard of Xs, but the final product turned out navigable. |

You can access the cat walk in the engine room from the bottom step on the rear 1st to 2nd floor staircase. All of our scans are invoiced individually. Hanging out with a brilliant billionaire is priceless. |

Just an FYI for anyone doing a boat or yacht scan. They are called decks, not floors.

Yes, they are always decks, but for Matterpeeps reference to the model it is easier to keep a consistent vernacular. In addition, the capture app does not discriminate amongst the various physical structures in the world that can be scanned. Therefore, my referencing each change in elevation as a floor change, regardless of society's label of the particular physical space, is appropriate in this case. Thanks for your feedback, DC.

162 scan points in total, 3 floors/decks/whatever. It was a lot of fun and an excellent opportunity to train local team members on how to scan well. The drone footage will be a great compliment to the interior and we'll post that video once edited. Anyone need advice on boats in the future, let us know we're happy to help. Thank you all for your feedback - good and bad. Feel free to share, but the URL will likely change once the marketing package is complete. |

Beautiful... The different exterior lighting conditions from the various floor levels was also fun to see ... evening to night transition. I would imagine it would be no easy task to aim at getting the one side view of the yacht from the dock (as a dock usually rocks at different rate than the vessel), but that might be fun to attempt on another boat project, if the water was EXTREMELY calm some day. ;-) Nice work! |

Hi @Invelop, Great job on the scan. In looking at your scan, all these q's pop up * What would you say was the most challenging part of the entire job? * 162 scan points. How long did it take start to finish? * Did you plan out the scan based on how the lighting was going to effect the overall outcome or just start scanning? Thanks! |

Billionaire hangouts are cool, but you can't eat or pay this months bills with advice and small talk. So my question to you is.. Did the client invest: Over or under $1000 for your services? |
