Inman (1 April 2020) Compass is launching virtual agent services to keep agents in biz - The platform is aimed at keeping business going as some states issue stay-at-home orders

"The toolkit’s showing features — which are especially important in states that have banned in-person real estate activity — include digital listing brochures, virtual open houses, interactive digital home tours and virtual neighborhood walks, fully involving the real estate agent at every turn," reports Inman.

No mention regarding the 24/7 Virtual Open Houses are shot by the client or service provider or if there is a preferred virtual tour platform associated with the Compass Virtual Agent Service.

Stay healthy,

Dan

Compass has sold itself from the beginning as "the technology real estate brokerage" so this is in keeping with their branding. Time will tell whether this is PR or they're really engaged.

The real estate industry is entirely freelancers. Agents make money when escrow closes on a sale, and for the most part agents don't like spending their own money, their commissions, on marketing. If Compass is going to commit corporate funds to the creation of virtual tours, that would be an evolutionary step forward. However, this is a difficult step to take at the brokerage level. We shall see.
