Video: WGAN-TV Matterport Meets Insurance Claims-Fire and Floor Remediation and Restoration #1126-How Insurance Claims Adjusters Mark-up Matterport's TrueSketch (Xactimate) Hi All, In this WGAN-TV Short Story (#1126, above), Matterport's Tomer Poran talks about how and why Insurance Claims Adjusters can mark-up Matterport's TrueSketch (Xactimate) plans. For Matterport Service Providers, understanding how and why insurance companies can turn your expense into a profit center will help you in your marketing to insurance adjusters about their fire and flood documentation. Your thoughts? Best, Dan |

So follow up question on this, is how much does Xactimate software cost to build the diagram in that software or do you do a CAD diagram that you up load into Xactimate. Kind of looking for work flow to make this work and be a viable product. Where are you focused on selling this the insurance companies or mitigation company?

@ron0987 Matterport creates the TrueSketch (Xactimate) plan for you from the Matterport MatterPak. The beta pricing is about $250, according to Tomer in our WGAN-TV Live at 5 interview. It's a great question about whom is the client: the insurance company or the mitigation company. My impression is that your client would be the mitigation company: you provide your service and they expense it back to the insurance company. I just spoke with a potential client on Matterport/Xactimate, Matterport is trying to sell them on doing it themselves. So the question I have is the sales rep said only the MP Pro 2 camera can be used. Everything I have read showed that the Theta V/Z1 and Insta 360 should work. Can anybody that is testing this confirm this. Even if I loose a customer I would rather give them strait info, after reading specs I recommended the Theta Z1. Any info would be great. |

I just went through the Matterport camera informational comparison chart, it says that Matterport does not provide Matterpack or 2D floorplans for either Theta Z or V, or Insta360 cameras.

Looks like the Cost of the $250 is going to be set in. The insurance adjuster is going to know it costs $250 to order from Matterport. The contractor is going to know it costs $250 to get from Matterport and order themselves privately. My garage burned up last year and constantly had my insurance adjuster saying No to a lot of fees knowing cheaper costs exist in previous dealings. How do you get the $50 up-sell margin when everyone knows the true cost trying to deliver the TrueSketch. Guess I don't see it. I know bunch of you guys have gotten into the insurance game. |
