Matterport 3D Tour by We Get Around Network Photographer Dan Smigrod

Hi All,

This hotel room (above) has four mirrors:

1. a full-length mirror as you walk in
2. a super-large mirror on the wall behind the bed (and the mirror is titled downward)
3. a mirror on the wall behind the bathtub
4. a mirror above the sink

Despite the four mirrors, you will not see the camera in any of the mirrors.

Scanning is both a business and an art. I simply can not imagine showing the camera in a mirror, if at all possible.

To keep the camera out of the mirrors, I did the following:

1. The height of the camera was below the height of #2 and #4 above.
2. Notice that when you "walk in" to the bathroom, you walk in at an angle: either right in front of the bathroom sink or between the tub and toilet. (There is a lower scan in the bathtub for "tub view.)

I did have to shoot with the camera in front of the mirrors, I choose to hide this scans.

Many Members move plants around to hide the camera.

(Others use GeoCV so that they can download the 360ºs - edit them and re-upload them.)

Other thoughts on scanning with mirrors present?

Do you leave the camera showing in the mirrors?

Best,

Dan

P.S. I recall at least one Pro did his logo backwards on the camera so that it show correctly in mirrors
