| question: I have a buddy with an oculus and was trying to setup a demo using the instructions from: https://matterport.freshdesk.com/support/articles/1000065769--matterport-to-oculus-rift-conversion-process I ran into the following problems and was hoping for some help: I could not find the unity pro trial version. I downloaded unity but never saw anything about a trial. When downloading the template from the link above and extracting it I kept getting an error that the OculusTemplate file already existed and could not be transferred (the folder I was extracting too was empty but thought the file be 0kb may have been an issue) I was working on a 32 bit windows machine so i could save my trial on the macbook I normally use. Any ideas? Thanks! |

| We're doing an event in MN at the end of the month and asked if we could demo our models in VR. Without giving away to many details here is a message from Matterport's new VR department... We have a "sideloading" app that will be available in a little over a week that will streamline the deployment of VR models. With this app, our developers can bundle up models and then send them to you for loading onto the phone. You'll be able to show a menu of models on the GearVR as well as a single model on Cardboard. Prepping the models for VR still isn't a fully automated process, so our developers will need to spend some time prepping each model. We currently charge $400 per model for VR conversion -- this price is expected to drop substantially in a few months once we fully automate the process. |

| The 3 demos in Samsung Gear VR are retail space, a art gallery, and canyon. None of which are really fitting for real estate, and honestly those samples kind of suck. I just got my beta version of the app with a model that we scanned and it turned out great. We're going to be doing demonstrations here in MN on Thursday and will see what kind of response we get. Currently the cost is $400, but I heard it'll be under $50 once they can get it automated. |
