Hi All, The WGAN Forum Question of the Day for Friday, 26 July 2019: Do you shoot vertical video for Real Estate Agents? --- Here's why I ask ... from Inman: 9 is the ideal number of hashtags’ and 7 other tips for growing your audience online Shoot vertical video [Kyle] Whissel pointed out that most people are engaging with social media content on their phones, which are oriented vertically, not horizontally. And [Marki] Lemons-Ryhal said that “vertical content is the fastest growing content in the history of the internet.” Shooting and posting videos in a vertical, or portrait, orientation means that they can take up consumers’ entire phone screens. That will make the videos both more engaging, as well as simply easier to understand. Lemons-Ryhal also pointed out that Facebook Stories and Instagram Stories — both ephemeral, Snapchat-like video platforms that many social media experts have extolled at Inman Connect — use vertical video. Shooting video in that orientation, then, makes it easier to use on those platforms. Source: Inman --- My Inman referral code for 30 days free |

Guess I’m old-fashioned. No, most of the houses I promote with video are wider than they are tall. An human vision is wider than tall. Not a big fan of motion-smoothing on the new tv sets either - great for sports but bad for cinema. I’ll switch to vertical when we all mount our big screen TVs vertically.

I wish we could should vertical. In the vast majority of situations, horizontal is fine. There are times like a small bathroom or trying to get a top to bottom photo of a house when they have woods almost up to their back door. I search through many house photos online but don't recall seeing a vertical photo. Let's start a new trend!
