Help with Matterpak into CADD9789

Ghagendorf private msg quote post Address this user
I have a 20,000 sq ft client that wants me to scan and provide Matterpak to their office furniture/designer so they can re-configure the offices.

The designer doesn't know how to upload the sample/test Matterpak into CADD. I have tried to provided info that I find on the internet but that hasn't helped.

Does anyone have instruction on how to do this or is there a company that will take the Matterpak, put it into CADD and give the designer company the CADD package?

Thanks in advance!!

Gordon

What CAD program does the designer use?

In order to import the matterport scan into CAD, you need to get the point cloud. This is offered through the Mattetpak.

The point cloud can be imported into most CAD software, howrver, it needs to be registered with an intermediate program.

In AutoCad, it gets registered in ReCap, then can be directly imported. Remember, it comes in as a 3D poi t cloud so you have to know how to handle the data in 3D.

Also, I have had varying results with the Matterpoint point cloud. If the scan accuracy is critical, you should use a LIDAR scanner like the Leica BLK360.

Good luck.

@PBStone1 is correct. Recap needs to be used to create the point cloud. Once created it can be inserted into CAD and used to create working drawings.
