I just published this video post and think it may inspire others. I filmed myself outside a massive scan I was doing. 1500 scan points. Over 300,000 sqft. https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=t4RBvLh8GfX My learnings from that are in my memoirs. But that's not my point. I captured the billboards outside. V Important. Mention the builders and agents etc. I then transcribed it. I then subtitled it. Why? - because 87% videos are watched with no audio. I made the whole video, with transcription and subtitles in the same time I completed the scan on 2nd floor. (3hrs) It was quite amazing. I tested and did it. And it worked! The Agents, Builders, Constructors all got my number and I have now got loads more business. What I got wrong: - get a branded hard hat - get a branded hi-viz vest What do you think? Onwards.... Wow! That’s a huge scan!! How large is this one, and how long did it take you to scan it? Great video. I weirdly read the subs as I was watching/listening to it (weird habit of watching videos with no sound... I’m amongst that 87% ). |

@ArchimedStudio 16 hours. The repetition was mind-numbing and over 70 scans misaligned. To avoid that I had to scan much closer to previous scan points. Many apartments were so similar the camera kept placing scans the other side of the building which looked like replicas. I placed paint pots and random objects in shot to differentiate them. It’s under construction so not an issue. |

@angusnorriss Thank you for your reply! Is that Matterport Space really 300,000 sqft and 1,500 scans? Or when you are done doing multiple days of scanning at this location, that's the numbers you will hit? I thought Matterport strongly recommanded not to go too much above 20,000 sqft. And as far as numbers of scans, I would start to stress out after going above 250. How did you know a scan this big would work? Once again, great job (and props for your patience! ) |

@ArchimedStudio yep it was going slightly delirious. It’s 3 separate models stitched together by Matterport. Each floor is roughly 400-500 scans. There were approx 60 misalignments per floor due to rooms looking so similar to each other. I had to go back and just scan closer to the last point and make sure after ‘aligning’ that it places it in the right place on the capture app. So far so good. |

Cool! I didn't know Matterport could stitch several models together manually. Do they charge something to do this? And according to them, what's the biggest resulting model they can do (or don't advise to go beyond). Thanks again! |

Yep they can. Ask Supoort. I don’t know the cut-off size. Not sure they do either as there are some bigger ones out there. I guess we need to push this tech, as always! |
