I'm wondering how Matterport intends to respond to Googles' entry to the 3D scanning business. They are offering a camera that is less than half the price of a Matterport but seems to yield at least a similar level of quality. Personally, I feel threatened. Any ideas/comments? |

What Google is providing is different in so many ways to MP. With Google you can't have a Virtual Floorplan or a 3D Model. The turn around/production time are worlds apart and provide a different experience for the viewer - also you can't do real estate with Google due to privacy restrictions. These are two different tools that are used for different purposes - they can cross over but as a whole don't threaten one another. |

@suncoastskyview No comparison at this time and nothing to worry about, the camera and 360 panoramic from google are way better, but. Like Property3dNZ said it will be lacking so many feature that at this time no comparison. But if you had the client that was willing to pay for the overall product you could work it and do everything if you wanted to put the work into doing it manually. But even putting it to together manually you would not have the doll house view. I have discussed this with my partner for high end properties and as of now we do no feel there is any agents in our area that would be willing to pay for that much work. Ron |
