Hi All,

Imagine "an improvement" to a workflow that actually doubles your workflow.

Yikes! How does this happen?

I saw this post to this related WGAN Forum discussion:

In regards to the new version of Showcase, the main issue that makes the new version a non starter for me right now is that I cant download the images I use to create the highlight reel with and I also can't download the photos I create for the highlight reel. In the legacy version I go through the tour and take snapshots along the way. I can then use those in the highlight reel and download them for the clients use.
In the new version if I want a highlight reel and downloadable images I have to do each process separately...doubling the work flow.
Please fix this so it is once again a 1 step process to be able to download snapshots and also use them in the highlight reel, or allow the photos selected for the highlight reel to be downloadable."

However I will forward your request to our product management team and they'll consider it for future product updates.

Apologies I could not answer more positively to your query. Please let me know if you need any further support.

Kind regards,

If you creating Highlights Reels and Snapshots, how painful is this Matterport Workshop "improvement" for you?

Best,

Dan

I always go to the legacy version... I find I can’t effectively work in the new version.

I am very happy with the new workshop. As it will be the standard and only option in June, I have committed to suing it exclusively. While the transition has had issues, all have been resolved and I think the new workshop is so much less frustrating to work with. It would be nice to download highlight reel images, but I don't mind taking the snapshots separately.

I HATE the face I have to do double work, it was very inconsiderate of Matterport to do this.
I am doing 80 Condos right now and there photos stink which I NEVER use and now I have to double that photo work, how can that be OK... it's NOT...

It’s actually a much better workflow! Toggle back and forth to the highlight reel and photo setting. The big upside is that the highlight reel can be corrected on the fly and as for the photos, the grid lines really help for vertical alignment for a professional look. Photos are delivered quickly in a download link. I find it faster and much easier; the old workshop was slow and clunky.

@Wonderdawg No matter how you look at it, if you want HD photos and a highlight reel in the new 3.0 version, you have to enter highlight reel, compose the image, add the image, open photos, re-compose the image and take the picture. Twice as much work compared to doing the same thing in the Legacy version.

If they could just make the photos in the highlight reel downloadable, the problem would be solved.

Hate is a 4-letter word and I rarely use it. However, it describes how I feel about the new workshop. Please, please, please let the ones of us who like the Legacy version, continue to do so.
