Hi all, Got a huge place (80,000 sqft) possibly in the works for a Matterport application. Not sure that it'll all fit in 1 model, and if it has to be broken down into sections, so be it. We will likely be using April tags for some of the more open spaces, and while I've used April Tags before, I simply used the ones provided with all the Matterport branding on them. Example: My question is this: If I were to put my own logo (or even that of the client) to replace the Matterport info it should still work, right? Example: |

@Queen_City_3D Yes. Are you using a Leica BLK360 to speed your workflow? Rent one? Dan P.S. You could shoot 80,000 SQ FT before lunch time with Cupix. What are the specs on the job that you would want to use Matterport? Last I checked, Matterport officially supports up to 200 scans and 10,000 SQ FT. (You should get it in writing from Matterport Support that they will support you if thee is a problem processing the model.) How big can my Matterport model be? Screen Grab: Matterport |

I'd love to own a Leica Blk360, but alas don't have a spare $30K+ on me at the moment, and rental rates are fairly atrocious. I can't speak too much about the space due to an NDA, but essentially there's a fairly large manufacturing plant and office building. There are some very natural divisions of space, so if I have to break it up into a couple smaller models that'd be fine. I looked at some other large models in this thread: https://www.wegetaroundnetwork.com/topic/2996/page/1/huge-model---how-big-can-you-go/ and think we'll be fine with the use of the Matterport Pro2. |

Hey Queen City 3D and Dan, Hello from California! I have a PTA meeting coming up but saw Cupix mentioned, for whom I work for, and I thought I'd stick my head in for a minute. 3D Scanning a site this size is project all in itself, and it can be helpful to have site documentation in advance to effectively coordinate and execute on that project. Depending on the needs of the site, there may be some areas you want to capture in more detail, some that don't matter. Same with accuracy. Not to mention Scan to BIM. These all factor into how you quote and execute on the project. You might try capturing the site with a 360 camera and Cupix on a walk though put it on your helmet -- it might take an hour to capture. Use this for capture planning purposes, quoting, outsourcing and other coordination in your project. 1. Capture with Cupix 2. Quote Project 3. Execute 3D Laser Scan Capture Project 4. Deliver to happy customer Best, Scott |

Here is 76000 sq ft total scan time 30 hours over 6 nights.note this was before firmware upgrade which increased scanning speed We duplicated the tour as we went and duplicated it into 3 individual floors and linked them via mattertags at lifts and stairs Here is ground floor Here is how the client used it clickable text No alignment issue however it did take 3 attempts and some assistance from Matterport support to get the master tour to process which took over 40 hours. As you can see from the capture app image from a total scans of 1076, we managed to reduce it to 655 Unless you have open spaces with 8-10m of open space you should be able to scan around the outside of the space without the use of tags. We did it with the below space before we aware that tags existed. We did have some alignment issues during scanning buy battled through. Good luck |

@3dshowcaseuk That's a great tour! Question for you... at what point did you know that you had to get Matterport Support involved with the processing. Was it just stuck in limbo or were you experiencing issues with alignments or other problems? |
