I received a Matterport "Meet a Trusted Matterport Service Partner" email that turned out to be a virus. As a routine, I usuallu open my internet browser and visit the website listed in an email to see who/what the potential customer is and what they do before I respond to the request for information. This time, I got a BAD "pseudo-virus" from the website. Warning popped up allover the browser. I could not close it and I got audio warnings of the "virus". I immediately shut down my PC and then pulled all network cables and then rebooted to do a virus scan. Luckily, it was a pseudo-virus that "warned" me and not a real one. All the same... watch out. The name of the "person" requesting information is "Bianca Wall". For obvious reasons, I will not give the full email... but it was biancaswall@ys***.com I guess now we need to be aware of malicious requests for "information" from the Matterport portal too. Just thought you should know. John Loser Scene World Imaging |
