A question from a Contractor client who does insurance adjusting.

"Can I use MP Scan data to tell if the walls are plumb and the floors are level?"

Does anyone know the answer to this? I am guessing pulling the data into a AEC software might provide the answer he's looking for?

Yes - but as Matterport states, to within only +/- 1%.

Using workshop, you could take multiple linear measurements along the floor/wall and note any change in the resulting dimensions.

Or download the Matterpak and import the .xyz into Recap (or similar software) giving you some more tools to analyze the model with.

However, in my opinion, the BLK360 and Recap (or Cyclone) would be a much better tool for this purpose.

Hope that helps.
