Question about replacing Matterport with Cupix8065

We are investigating some alternatives to our Matterport Virtual Tour services for one of our larger national clients who does not want us to use Matterport at all for their listings anymore. I wanted to get some feedback from any of you that are currently using Cupix. Obviously, it's not Matterport and the performance, confusing navigation, and lack of dollhouse are not ideal, but have any of you gotten any other negative feedback from realtors about Cupix? I hear plenty about the pros, but I'm looking for any cons here. | ||

@immersivespaces Why does your large national client not want to use Matterport anymore? The answers may be the key to determining what the best solution would be for this client. Best, Dan |

There are a few issues: Branding: They don't want their branding to be secondary to Matterport or anyone else. This was non-negotiable. Confidentiality: Their inventory is all homes in the $20 Million+ market, so the confidentiality of their clients is extremely important. The Matterport TOS snafu earlier this year has left a permanent bad taste in their mouths. Control Over Assets: Ability to permanently and completely delete the virtual tour at any time. This was also non-negotiable. Self-hosting/Offline Files: They want to be able to house their tours within their own system independent of a service provider's resources. |

@DanSmigrod Have you gotten any other negative feedback from realtors about Cupix? So far I have only heard: - Performance of the Qpix player is very lagging. - Transitions between views are not very smooth and often you'll have to wait for loading. - No floorplan options. 3rd party service required. Any others? |

@immersivespaces I have not heard from Realtors on this topic. Blue-Sketch offers 2D floor plans from CUPIX models. Best, Dan |

But you have to pay (at least) $142/mo in fees to CUPIX to be able to provide those measurements to Blue Sketch. Plus the cost of the floor plan from Blue Sketch. |

@CFster With a CUPIX Petite (free) or Small ($24) monthly plan, plus the CUPIX Add Ons AEC Pack ($69 monthly) or Team Pack ($49 monthly), you can order Blue-Sketch 2D Floor Plans. With the AEC Pack, provide CUPIX with the measurements of a living room and bedroom or with the Team Pack, enable Blue-Sketch to measure, you can get Blue-Sketch Floor Plans. Assuming that you have a Small Plan ($24 monthly) with the Team Pack ($49 monthly), that's $73 monthly to be able to easily offer Blue-Sketch floor plans. Additionally, you can import the Blue-Sketch Floor plans in CUPIX to substitute for the auto-generated floor plan. Best, Dan P.S. CUPIX should enable 3rd party service providers - such as Blue-Sketch - to be a Team Member for the sole purpose of creating 2D Floor Plans (which adds value to the CUPIX platform). |

@DanSmigrod Am I reading this incorrectly? “In order to get a Floor Plan created you need to take the following steps: Activate the AEC pack in your Cupix account. This will allow to measure dimensions in your tour. Activate the Team pack in your Cupix account. This will allow safe sharing of your workspace with us. Share your Workspace with Blue-Sketch. You can do this by clicking the Share icon in your Cupix Workspace, and invite sales@blue-sketch.com into your Workspace. We need Read-Write access to your tours.” $24 - Small monthly plan $69 - AEC pack $49 - Team pack Blue Sketch Floor Plan FAQ |

Hey this is Scott from Cupix. A few points: Performance: It's fast. Performance is optimized for a geographic region, such as Northern Europe, or the Southeast, or Oregon. This is set automatically based on address set in Cupix. What this means is if you are in São Paulo and want to access a tour residing on servers in N. Europe, then we pool the data to the Brazil region and in turn the first time accessing the tour will be the slowest. However the next time you or anyone in that new region accessing it, speed will be like you are in N. Europe because the data will be in Brazil. This is all done automatically using a sophisticated CDN. If for some reason you need top performance in multiple regions please contact Cupix directly. Capture Speed: You can mix a DSLR rig with 360 action cams and achieve capture speeds of about 8 minutes per 2BR/2BA house. These tours can be used to create dimensionally accurate floor plans. Speed is a topic on large scale sites such as commercial but is also true in residential. If you are already on site with a DSLR (compact or full frame), grab a fisheye lens and a rotator and your tour photos are 13K HDR. Even the 360 action cams produce great tours when viewed on mobile. Security/Privacy/Confidentiality/White Label There are no issues here. Contact us for more details and deployment options. Other capabilities. Please reach out to Cupix. CFoster: You are right about $142/mo plus Blue-Sketch fees, to work with a 3rd party. If that is prohibitive for the volume of work you are doing then Cupix will be prohibitive solution for your needs at this time. Sorry about that. If there are any changes we will be sure to post here. Outdoor tours: Yes. |
