It's not a conflict of interest unless another MSP has an existing relationship with a large company and loses the contract to Matterport.

How would you reply to this Matterport Service Provider (from this WGAN Forum discussion)?

Yes Matterport is selling our services at $300 per 5 models per location. At least that is what they are paying, and we get none of the residuals. ...

With most companies out there, the purchasing agents have to get multiple quotes on jobs. Matterport comes in super cheap and then gets them on the SAS plan, and that is where they are making their money. The clients purchasing agent can't give a thumbs up to Matterport without having multiple quotes to appease the corporate purchasing standards. So they reach out to me and I give them a quote, unknowingly they already have a quote from Matterport. So the time and effort I put into a proposal are out the window and well frankly I'm tired of the Matterport BS.

And my margins are too thin to come down any further. It sucks but Matterport is going to put me out of business at this rate. What I am afraid of is that matterport is reaching out to photographers in the area to get them to do these jobs, and the photographer is reaching out for Matterport photographers to do those jobs adding another layer of Middle Man BS.

Anything that looks like it is too good to be true...is a lie.

Based on what is written above:

$300 for 5 Apartments -- Which average 700 - 1200 SQFT. And then a monthly fee ...

If you're scanning at $0.15/sqft -- Then 4,750 SQFT = $712.50.

$712.50 - $300 = $412.50.

How long does it take for the SAAS plans to catch up? If they are paying $49, like the rest of us (on the BASIC plan), then the answer is 8 months.

I would use the term Dark Horse, where little is known where one unexpectedly wins.

We have seen a ton of markets steer towards low commission marketing campaigns with smaller returns in search of volume. Companies like Opendoor and Purple Bricks have entered the real estate market using low commission and fee pricing to drive their business models. This now creates the term "1% listing agents" as well.

When the remaining real estate agents do a presentation. What topic comes up first for the buyers or sellers?

Commission & Fees!!!

Where did the topic come from? The ads in the area driving "price" to become the topic of discussion for all. Matterports decision to get involved with test runs of pricing campaigns and offering blanket solutions with a price has created a Dark Horse blanket win over MSP's who could have competed for the business. Instead, they were shut out of even trying. The job goes to person who just bought a camera willing to work for pennies per square foot.
