A very talented real estate photographer who I follow on YouTube put together this small survey. Included are some (not surprising) results concerning Matterport. Certainly most of my clients aren’t interested, not in real estate anyway.

It is interesting that the Matterport and Video walkthrough questions had close to the same response. So my take from that is Realtors do not want to spend money on anything! It holds true for the twilight photos too. If it is more than just photos they just don't want to spend money on it.

The problem with the survey regarding Matterport, as I see it, is skewed towards his followers. Like he said, he tried Matterport, didn't like it so it's dead to him. His followers are not Matterport photographers so of course the majority are going to say they don't use it.

Have a Matterport photographer with as many followers the same question and the results would be completely opposite.

This survey, while interesting, means nothing to Matterport photographers.

I’m hoping to meet one of those RE Matterport photographers. Maybe he can give me some marketing tips, because so far none of my clients are interested.

Yes. Interesting to hear the surveyor's commentary about Matterport.

@rzphotoman

I wonder if Matterport ever does outreach to key influencers to win them over?

Best,

Clearly the NZ market is very different - its unusual to not have a video, drone or twilight photography. In the 2 years I spent doing real estate photography in Perth, Australia we didn't do video but there was a high demand for pole and twilight photography. I don't know how accurate this guys findings are - my thoughts are he has a very defined audience of just real estate photographers.
