@DanSmigrod Thank you Dan for the reply! I was interested in some detailed photos like in the other post. Maybe someone can reply back with some pictures. Anyway, the most important part, was related to the type of sensor they are using in this new camera. Doesn't look like Intel RealSense D415 or D435 or any Asus, that I know! I wonder if they use one developed by a company or something they developed inside house ? Mehmed |

@talibmehmed - It's not a commercial sensor - but it is VERY VERY VERY close to the Asus Xtion2. The Pro-2 came out at about the same time and I imagine that there's some cross over in manufacturing. There is a variant of the Pro-2 -- and I think that it may be in the wild. To the consumer, there would be no noticeable difference -- just different suppliers. The point in mentioning this is to state that Matterport is not just sticking off-shelf stuff in their cameras. That being said, I would LOVE a Matterport Pro AEC Edition that used the D435! The RGB camera is inferior to the one in the Pro-2 -- but the depth sensor reaches 10m and works in sunlight!!!!!!! It would be so useful to have one of these as it would be faster than the BLK and would be able to handle most of the work that you need a BLK for! The BLK would then remain useful for anything requiring even greater range (height!) or precision (3mm accuracy!!!) |

@Metroplex360 - Thank you very much for your feedback. I was watching the high-resolution picture of the Matterport PRO2 and I didn't find any resemblance to something on the market. Because of that, I asked for some teardown pictures of the Matterport Pro2. I wanted to know to which Structural Light device they upgraded the new camera. Hopefully, someone will give us a set of pictures. Anyway, I will look closer to the Xtion2 sensor. The D435 looking good as you said too but I'm still searching for some technical details related to it. Still researching some things and I will come back to the community with some news. The real estate industry is in need of a professional device centered on the agency/agent, not on the manufacturer(Matterport: powered by, logos, URL, processing etc). I really appreciate the www.cupix.com efforts of coming with a White Label solution for the industry. I talked with Scott in private related to that and everything looks very promising. The only thing that it's missing in my research for now is just the Dollhouse. Working on solving that thing too. We developed things much more complicated than that. Bear with me. |
