Hi All,

I stopped this $300 off Matterport Camera offer Wednesday (15 August 2018) on Facebook.

This "sale" seems to be always.

If you are buying a Matterport Camera, ask for the discount.

Best,

Dan

Is there any value in looking at one used on Ebay? MC200 seems to be listed often, I just didnt know what the value would be in getting new versus second hand.

@jblythe

Depends on whether you want the:

✓ Matterport Pro1 (MC200)
✓ Matterport Pro2 (MC250)
✓ Matterport Pro2 Lite

If you are fine with Pro1, a few additional thoughts:

1. Matterport is still selling new MC200 version for $1,899
2. It's likely that Matterport has re-conditioned MC200 series to sell too
3. Not all MC200 are the same!

As I recall, the Serial Numbers begin with a letter such as: B551 or F101. If I was buying a used Matterport Pro1 (MC200) series Camera, one of my considerations would be to buy a F series versus a B series. As I recall, Matterport has not publicly disclosed what changes were made in each series, I could imagine the later the letter, the better off you will be. For example, the easiest Matterport MC200 did not have an LED or a quick release plate built in.

Does that help?

Best,

Dan

@DanSmigrod

Yes this is really helpful. I have been looking at various cameras and these tend to pop up the most, but I had no idea what to even look for when buying one second hand. I am still not convinced that Matterport is the way for me to go, but this info is good to keep in my back pocket in the event I do go that way. Thank you!
