Hi All, Why can you buy Matterport MatterPak when the Matterport model is set to private, but not Matterport 2D schematic Floor Plans? Seems like if Matterport can figure-out how to offer MatterPak when the model was never set to public, it should do the same for floor plans? Your thoughts about why Matterport does not allow us to buy 2D schematic floor plans unless the model has been set to public? Best, Dan PS Seems like a Matterport Ecosystem "wish list" item that Matterport has not addressed ... |

My guess is the floor plans are hand drawn by individuals outside of Matterport's organization, most likely in a low cost country to allow the $15 price. These people need access to the model, hence the public status. | ||

The order process for Matterpack is most likely an automatized export process that happen directly on Matterport servers and does not require any need of manual processes to be performed. Clients who orders floorplans directly from Matterport are probably not in constant and direct contact with their floorplan production teams. Matterport most likely have several external production companies working for them to produce the 2D Schematic floorplans. It should be easy for Matterport to provide this to their production teams without the public status. Luckily we and other independent and flexible providers of floorplans do not require such bindings :-) |

@PetraSoderling, @mp2fp - Pretty much Another thing to mention is that there may be legal jargon surrounding the 'Public/Private' button. 'Public' may be a legal agreement to share data with the 3rd party that provides the floorplans. What if Matterport allowed direct ordering of floorplans from multiple vendors that provided them the same profit margin? |
