I have a customer that has asked me if Matterport provides any way to edit the imagery in such a way as to eliminate an unwanted view of the camera as reflected from a mirror or reflective surface? If not, would it be possible to engage an imaging expert to manipulate the imagery to do the same thing? Thanks for any assistance and or suggestions. Regards, Tony |

Hey Tony, I'm sorry but the best way to eliminate a camera that has been reflected in a mirror is to STOP scanning with the camera in front of mirrors. We've found that there is almost always a solution -- whether it is lowering the tripod to where the camera is not visible (check your panorama afterwards in capture) -- or creatively using staging to block your camera. You may be able to disable these scans if they aren't necessary for navigation, or return to the location to rescan around the area. If it is impossible to return to the location and you are looking for an alternative, you have a few options. #1) Export to Google Street View If this is a public space, you can export to Google Street View and then use GoThru (or my service @ mp2sv.com) to export, edit, and reupload the imagery. You'll still have a tour, just not a Matterport one! #2) Export to Google Street View -> Reimport to Cupix You can also use the GSV integration creatively by exporting to Google Street View, downloading the photos, then REMOVING from Google Street View. Upload the panos to Cupix after editing. Viola! -- - Chris |

Depending on the mirror an indoor shrub, small plant or exercise BALLS. These are ways to hide camera which work pretty good. | ||

WOW @metroplex360 you just dropped some Pearl's of wisdom. I am a relative newbie, 10MP scans and 3 uploads to GSV My latest tour upload for an Accountants Office in an 11 story shopping centre https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=4G5z97m8XiP to GSV is not what I imagined being as the GSV - this is what I am seeing in my local guides photos area https://goo.gl/maps/aNSynaj6jpp and the 360 views hasn't attached to the GMB listing. https://goo.gl/maps/eX4uVYRYXfp Im confused what to do and Your last 2 points are very interesting solutions for me I think. Could you help expand on point 2 which I think is relative to me... "exporting to Google Street View, (Done) downloading the photos, (How) then REMOVING from Google Street View.((How) Upload the panos to Cupix after editing (understand and or mp2sv?) I need to solve this quick or the client is going to go crazy that the entire accounting office is live to the world and only wanted a partial tour through key areas. Thanks Chris |
