| We are working on a project for the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne FL. The main room is 500 by 160 ft, and presented a lot of challenges. Too big, walls and ceiling look very similar throughout. Floor is featureless. And when you think about, all cars kind of look alike to a Matterport. And then when you have like 4 visually identical Corvettes lined up side by side... lol. We ended up breaking up into individual rows of cars... Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 |

| It took about 20 man hours, with at least 4 discarded partial attempts. Once you got the slightest bit of vagueness in a car's location, adjacent scans would start popping up in random spots. And then it all goes to hell. We just worked on slow or rainy days. I initially thought I could do the whole thing in one shot but quickly found that you need a scan every 3-4 feet on average in this target poor environment. Also, helped to go to slow spin. We are planning to Mattertag every car eventually. |
