I got to learn about -- and experience -- magic at AWE USA on Friday (1 June 2018). I controlled the movement of a robot simply by moving my body while wearing a HoloSuit – the world’s first consumer friendly, bidirectional full body motion tracker with haptic feedback. So, how does this relate to Matterport and Google Street View photographers? I could imagine an Augmented Reality experience mashed up with the HoloSuit to enable you to “really” walk through – and interact – with a space. Today – Phase 1 – we think about “navigating” a Matterport 3D Tour by “walking around” using the arrow keys on our keyboard. And, also today – Phase 2 – we “walk around” a space using Virtual Reality and stare at a point to continue walking. Now imagine Phase 3 where we really are immersed in a space and simply walk around – no instructions required. And, now, imagine in Phase 4 – we are interacting with others that virtually share the same space. Suit up to visit homes for sale - from 3,000 miles away? “One of the primary challenges ... is the lack of an universal interface which can allow users to naturally interact in 3D space,” says Kaaya Tech CEO Harshavardhana Kikkeri (the makers of the HoloSuit). “Just like iPhone changed the way we interact with 2D surfaces by digitizing our fingers, HoloSuit is changing the way you can interact in 3D spaces by virtualizing your entire body and allowing you to point to far away objects, touch nearby objects and feel them through localized haptic feedback.” Beam me in Scotty! | It would be different environment. I find Digital - Film and matterport to be sufficient enough. 50,000$ is a super small budget to accomplish something of this complexity. |
