This doesn't yet challenge Matterport for me, but it has the significant advantage of being indoor / outdoor, which is MP's biggest shortcoming right now. Cupix has a few other pluses, like shooting faster, being able to color-correct, selectively blur details, put a logo on nadir, but shooting faster is not worth much if the post on your computer takes more work. Matterport delivers a better movement experience between positions. Cupix displays more wide-angle distortion, which I do not like. Cheaper cameras, good thing. A Matterport-killer? No, but Cupix puts pressure on MP, and reduces the entry-level price to providing 3D tours.

@Home3D What do you mean indoor/outdoor? Would you please tell some detail. JuMP team want to learn the shortcoming that MP has currently and try to make it better if possible by some code when we embeded MP tour. |

Since Matterport measures its environment using infrared, it cannot do so in direct sunlight. Exteriors can only be scanned at dusk, dawn, or very cloudy weather. Cupid uses photogrammetry to divine spatial relationships so lighting doesn’t matter.
