I have only scanned 6 properties so far but I wanted to share what are now my 2 favorite tools I use when scanning and why. If you've been doing this for awhile, you probably use stuff like this already, but if your new like me, these may help you. If anyone else has tools they love I would love to see them. #1 A Gemtune Leveling Base DY-60i with Quick Release Clamp and plate. This has made leveling the camera quick and simple. No more messing with the legs of the tripod to get the camera square...a big time saver. Get it [Amazon] #2 A LapWorks iPad/Tablet/Camera Lanyard Neck Strap/Shoulder Strap I got real tired of always having to put the iPad down after most scans to move and adjust/level the camera. Now it just hangs around my neck. Another big time saver. Get it here: [Amazon] |

@rzphotoman About the Gemtune Leveling Base DY-60i with Quick Release Clamp and plate, could you shoot a quick video showing how you adjust the Matterport Camera for leveling? I am particularly interested in the "worst case" ... meaning is this like a ball head that could drop the Matterport Camera or the head only adjusts for a few degrees of leveling so not to put the camera at risk of falling. Best, Dan |

It isn't really a traditional ball head because it only moves a few degrees in any direction. I's always been enough to level the camera from scan to scan without any problems. I seems very secure and I have no fear of the camera tipping over. I'll try and do a video later and post it. | ||

@rzphotoman Awesome. Thanks for the video. Looks like a terrific solution! I had some concerns about worst case, but your video cleared that up. Thanks for sharing. Best, Dan |

Hi @rzphotoman, I'm still searching for tripod and head for my Matterport Pro 2. This one seems great, but a few reviews on Amazon mention some problems with fluid leaking and the screws being short. Maybe some defective units? |
