I left my iPad charging on my desk this morning. Has anyone figured out a way to scan using an iPhone? I bought a new iPad on the road today BTW. I was an hour from the office.

@Radie842 Sorry.. Don't think it can be done.

One option would be to try to borrow an iPad from someone near you for a day or two and download the capture app on their device. Only problem is that the raw scan data would remain on that device... but if you don't think you'll ever need to rescan the space you can use another iPad.

While it's not officially supported, you can actually install ipad applications on an iphone with root access. You can get root access by jailbreaking your device.

Back in the iPhone 3Gs days I "Jailbroke" a couple of them, but I've switched to Android soon after since that's open source. I am one of the few who isn't a big fan of the Apple ecosystem.

Jailbreaking a device isn't that hard, and there are plenty of guides online that show the process step by step, however I wouldn't recommend it if you're not comfortable with trouble shooting issues (which can occur). In the end I think the screen size of an iPhone isn't really optimal for scanning anyways.
