Hi All, A Forum Members writes ... Your thoughts on the leading Matterport competitors now or coming soon (2018)? Dan --- Hi Dan, I really like the work you do with this website. Even though being in business for [many] years in conventional and digital Media, your website helped me a lot getting quicker into this topic. I was wondering if you know of any alternative to [Matterport], a solution that is open and that will have no rights on your pictures? As far as I see, MP is the only solution for now also using a TOF sensor for depth information (the only other will be LASIRIS, but at a different pricetag, and according to nctech not this year anymore) keep up that excellent work! Hi All, I have a full day/night (Tuesday, 22 August 2017), so I will not have much (if anytime) for a deeper dive in answering the questions other than the following: β The Guide to 69 360ΒΊ 1-Click Cameras curated by We Get Around β Index: Comparing 3D/VR Platforms for Scanning β 18 Camera Companies/Platforms Announce at the 2017 Google Street View Summit (Index) Your thoughts about: " ...any alternative to [Matterport], a solution that is open and that will have no rights on your pictures?" Hi All, The Forum Member that reached out to me for this post adds .. Dan --- one technical question I could not really get the answer: Is the [Matterport] Pro2 camera also having a TOF (time of flight) sensor to extract depth information? Is there any other camera on the market having this (I mean both, high res HDR photo + depth information). MP does not really talk about how they gain the depth information..... |

Hi All, The Forum Member that reached out to me for this post adds ... Dan --- thanks again Dan, I guess i read already hundreds of posts, including all what you suggested, that's why I like the website...the only thing I feel for now, is that there is nothing really around MP, and I am sure they know it.... (NCtech have the most potential, but they missed to add a TOF on the Iris360 Pro..., the dollhouses are flat!)... could [not] find the link for what is announced to be on the market before end 2017 (early 2018) |

Yes - Apple acquired them. Meanwhile Intel RealSense is an alternative. | ||

Intel RealSense, Structure.io and Xtian Pro). Keep in mind that these hardware alternatives to Matterport do not offer software alternatives to Showcase, which is just as much a technological marvel from execution to optimization on a strong cloud platform that delivers unmatched performance. |
